After a lengthy legal battle, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finalized their divorce in 2024. While things are going strong between Pitt and his new girlfriend, Ines De Ramon, Jolie is living the single life. However, sources allege that her former co-star and friend, Salma Hayek, is trying to help her with her love life.
Salma Hayek has been doing very well in the love department, and that’s been the case for a long time. She had a surprise wedding to François-Henri Pinault in 2009 in a courthouse in Paris, one of the most romantic cities in the world. Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie has an empty nest, and sources told inTouch that Hayek is allegedly trying to get her friend back on the dating scene:
Salma is adamant that it’s time she stop shutting that side of herself off. She adores Angie and so does François, and they have told her that they’re going to make it their business to find her the right partner.
That’s what friends are for, right? Hayek and Jolie have been good friends for a while now, as they co-starred in Marvel’s Eternals and the Changeling actress directed the Frida star in the war drama film Without Blood. The two even shared dinner in Los Angeles while they worked on their Marvel flick together. With a bond as strong as theirs, it’s heartwarming that Hayek has reportedly made it her mission to help her friend find love.
Insiders previously claimed that the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider actress’s feelings on post-divorce dating have been focused on learning how to trust new men again and reportedly putting herself out there. Sources made claims to inTouch that Jolie is losing her faith in romance:
As much as she would love to find that kind of happiness, [Angie] doesn’t necessarily believe that sort of lasting romantic love is possible for her. She went through hell in her last relationship and that completely eroded her faith not just in marriage but in her own ability to choose the right partner.
It’s true that Brangelina didn’t exactly have a clean split. From the 2016 allegations of Pitt reportedly abusing her and their children on a private flight to wars involving custody and their shared winery, their entire divorce took eight years. With so much legal and emotional drama, it’s understandable why Jolie is allegedly being careful about her next romantic partner.
With many publications calling the actress/director one of the most beautiful women in the world, Jolie should have no problems finding someone to date. But, sources report there’s another reason why the Wanted actress allegedly held off on dating after her split from Brad Pitt:
She’s had plenty of men pursuing her the past ten years, but she’s shut it all out and just devoted herself to her kids. She felt like being the best mom was the most important job she had and truth be told, they make her happier than any man ever has.
As tough as divorce must have been for Angelina Jolie, it’s good that her children were there for her when she needed that support. Focusing on motherhood is a great way to find purpose and strength where it matters most. With her six kids no longer children, though, we’ll have to see if she decides to start dating. It would seem that’s what Hayek wants her to do.
With sources saying Salma Hayek is reportedly playing matchmaker for Angelina Jolie, I’d be curious if her powers of Cupid will truly affect her friend. As the insider shared that the Desperado actress and her husband reportedly know many “highly vetted” men, maybe Jolie can find it in herself to be in the mood for love again.
